Our History

History of the "Broyhan-Haus" in Hanover

Cord Broyhan (died 1570) was a German brewmaster who invented a new type of light, top-fermented beer in Hanover on May 31, 1526, which became known as Broyhan beer. His beverage replaced the dominance of dark beers, became an export hit and made Hanover an important beer city.  More about the history of the house
